The Role

The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Company’s Social Media Strategy and growing a social media team across all platforms. This includes creating social media profiles, managing regular posts, and responding to followers. The individual must stay at the leading edge of industry trends, so they can create a marketing strategy that generates inbound leads, gains followers, and creates a positive image for the company. They are also responsible for regularly evaluating the success of their marketing efforts and tweaking their marketing strategy as needed. This role coordinates with the internal Brand Marketing, Creative, Ecomm, Legal, and Executive teams to support the Company’s mission. The position involves ensuring our social broadcasting is fully integrated with all other efforts across the Company’s portfolio, as well as managing the Central Social Media budget.

Job Requirements

  • Create the social media strategy (including paid media), coordinating with stakeholders across the company to ensure its effectiveness and ensure the adoption of relevant social media techniques into the corporate culture and all of the company’s products and services
  • Own the roadmap budget for the social media tools in use on the Company’s sites, directing social media tool integration
  • Coordinate the planning of social media campaigns, ensuring customer acquisition and supporting monetization across the company’s portfolio
  • Coordinate partnerships with bloggers, influencers, and brand partnerships on social channels, which can be part of an integrated marketing strategy
  • Source and manage relationships with social monitoring and platform partners to support and develop commercial opportunities
  • Act as the advocate of social media integration within the Company, influencing overall brand websites and business strategies
  • Provide benchmarks and analyze data provided by the Social Media Team, to inform company-wide decision-making and commercial campaign targets are met
  • Monitor and comment on trends in social media trends and applications, acting as company spokesperson within the Social Media industry
  • Monitor the competition and be aware of market changes and developments, become an advocate for the company in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.
  • Demonstrate ability to map out a comprehensive marketing plan. Drive strategies that are proven by testing and metrics.
  • Develop organizational elements to implement a proactive process for capturing happy, loyal customer online reviews.
  • Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design, and strategy.
  • Implement ongoing education in the social space to remain highly effective.
  • Identify threats and opportunities in user-generated content surrounding the company. Report notable threats to appropriate management.
  • Analyze campaigns and translate anecdotal or qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising social media, content marketing, SEO, and social advertising campaigns.
  • Monitor effective benchmarks (Best Practices) for measuring the impact of social media campaigns. Analyze, review, and report on the effectiveness of campaigns to maximize results. Manage reporting process and cadence.
  • Create real-time social content in addition to branded content provided by the brands. Attend events and key moments to capture content on behalf of the brands.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates creativity and documented immersion in social media. (Give links to profiles as examples).
  • Proficient in content marketing theory and application.
  • Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing.
  • Exhibits the ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to the analytical side, able to demonstrate why their ideas are analytically sound.
  • Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.), and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.
  • Maintains excellent writing and language skills.
  • Enjoys a working knowledge of the blogging ecosystem relevant to the company’s field.
  • Displays ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and video format.
  • Exceeds at building and maintaining sales relationships, online and off.
  • Practices superior time management.
  • Is a team player with the confidence to take the lead and guide other employees when necessary. (ie: content development, creation and editing of content, and online reputation management).
  • Makes evident good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of principles of SEO including keyword research and Google Analytics. Highly knowledgeable in the principles of “Search and Social.”
  • Demonstrates winning Social Customer Service techniques such as empathy, patience, advocacy, and conflict resolution.
  • Possesses great ability to identify potential negative or crisis situations and apply conflict resolution principles to mitigate issues.
