FamilySearch International, the largest genealogy organization in the world, is looking for a highly experienced Social Media and YouTube Channel Manager and Strategist to join the Marketing team and lead strategic planning and daily execution of social media channels.

The successful candidate will possess versatility in both leading and doing, as this role requires strategic thinking and masterful execution ensuring audience growth and customer engagement. This individual will manage corporate social media channels, working with an agency, and mentor marketing staff around the world to ensure social media best practices are executed and the brand is cohesive across international social accounts. This individual should have a deep understanding of the best practices for managing each of the social channels and be skilled in analyzing metrics, understanding industry benchmarks, optimizing the effectiveness of each channel, and reporting to leadership. It is expected that the candidate be up-to-date and continuously learning the latest digital technologies and social media trends. YouTube strategies for a high amount of learning content will be included in this role. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and be able to express the organization’s views effectively and creatively.

Responsibilities**

  • Design and implement a global social media strategy to align with business goals, increase web traffic, and build brand awareness and loyalty
  • Develop and execute a publishing strategy on YouTube that promotes continual learning and engagement
  • Oversee the creation, editing, publishing, and sharing of content (work with design and publishing agency)
  • Identify trends in customer interactions on social channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, as well as emerging channels
  • Build an online community that engages with posts and feels comfortable interacting
  • Set measurable objectives and report on ROI
  • Analyze engagement data and benchmark against current trends and audience preferences
  • Collaborate with other teams like Content Marketing, global marketing, and customer service to integrate content strategies across channels and ensure brand consistency
  • Mentor and advise global marketers in social media best practices
  • Monitor customer reviews, share feedback and sentiment, and inform the organization of relevant market chatter and developments
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications
  • Manage budget allocation to use dollars in wise and prudent ways

Required

Qualifications

  • 8+ years’ experience managing corporate social media strategy and implementation, preferably for a medium to large organization with international reach
  • Understanding of multiple social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and TikTok. Experience with international social media is a plus
  • Hands-on experience in content management and content workflow: ideation, creation, publication, promotion, analysis
  • Excellent copywriting skills and an eye for creative design
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing, communications, or customer experience
  • Expertise in analyzing metrics, reporting results, creating and maintaining a budget
  • Excellent project management and time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills for executive audiences
  • Highly collaborative and skilled in working with and mentoring others
  • Must be self-motivated with the highest level of integrity in a mostly remote work environment
