About The Role

TAAF believes in the power of awareness, conversation, and messaging to advance our mission to serve the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in their pursuit of belonging and prosperity that is free from discrimination, slander, and violence. The Social Media Strategist assists with developing and implementing TAAF’s social media strategy in order to increase presence, grow reach, and drive engagement. The ideal candidate will have experience in leveraging their skills to deliver engaging content across a variety of social media channels, while playing a critical role in the delivery of information to external stakeholders. They will believe in working strategically with transparency and accountability, embrace a culture of learning, work respectfully with compassion, kindness and gratitude, and seek to be inclusive and collaborative in decision making. Most importantly, the candidate is passionate about our mission and recognizes and understands the challenges and opportunities in serving our community through the power of communications, marketing and branding.


  • Create, plan and execute daily social media content across TAAF owned social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Work across partner (grantee and corporate) social media teams to collaborate on social campaigns and elevate partner programs.
  • Set KPIs and benchmarking for TAAF’s social media strategy.
  • Create monthly metrics reporting and implement insights gleaned for future strategy.
  • Serve as community manager to engage and respond to audience outreach
  • Monitor news and social media trends to engage in zeitgeist moments and elevate social issues important to the TAAF mission and audience.
  • Grow TAAF’s presence and reach on all social platforms.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field of study or the equivalent of education and relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of social media marketing experience.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent judgment and attention to detail with project management, problem-solving, and analysis skills.

  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Creative thinking and approach towards problem solving.

  • Ability to transform personal and organizational narratives into simple, digestible, and inspirational messages.

  • Working knowledge of insights tools like Sprout Social.

  • Design experience with Adobe creative suite, Figma, and Canva.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to analyze data, understand trends and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis.

  • Ability and comfort working with and articulating narratives for diverse audiences and perspectives.

  • Passion for growing and developing their skills.

  • Working Hours
    Requires occasional weekend, off-hours, or evening work. Some travel required.

Compensation And Benefits
TAAF provides competitive compensation and benefits including health insurance (including dental and vision) and a 401k retirement plan to all employees.
Anticipated salary for this role is $70,000.
