The Social Media Strategist will work closely with brand owners, designers, animators and fellow social experts to create and implement a comprehensive strategy across paid and owned social media channels to promote and protect UWM. For this role, we’re looking for someone with experience in both social strategy development and execution, with the drive and capacity to lead brand-level social media efforts, stay on the leading-edge of trends and technologies, and advocate for new approaches that advance our brand(s) and their goals.

As a Social Media Strategist, you’ll be responsible for long-term planning and daily content development. You’ll maintain a cross-channel content calendar, posting the right content at the right time to maximize interaction and grow social’s impact on brand reputation and loyalty. You’ll build and nurture our online communities, identify brand advocates and implement processes and procedures to regularly test, measure and improve digital performance.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Developing and managing social strategies, including:
  • Conducting social audits of our brands and competitive set
  • Developing or refining social media playbooks with guidelines for brand engagement
  • Working collaboratively with Digital Analysts and Project Owners to define messaging, tone and audience
  • Creating and implementing comprehensive long- and short-term strategic communications plans that meet business needs
  • Maintaining content calendars
  • Defining and executing paid social media campaigns
  • Engaging audiences and owning reputation management
  • Developing content ideas and briefing creative teams for creative assets
  • Providing ongoing testing plans, measurement and analysis of social campaigns; Delivering insights-driven reporting and optimization recommendations
  • Staying informed on social media platforms, user trends, best practices, and new capabilities
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to innovate and test new capabilities and/or platforms in order to meet brand goals

What We Need From You

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 3+ years of social strategy development and execution
  • Solid understanding of social media landscape and best practices; experience planning for organic and paid campaigns
  • Ability to identify big picture goals and connect to social media tactics and executions
  • Test and learn mentality with a strong understanding of social campaign evaluation metrics
  • Proactive learner with strong ownership skills; ability to self-direct and manage multiple projects
  • Attention to detail
  • Team oriented, works collaboratively with others to achieve team goals
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
