This new hire will work in Global Corporate Headquarters, located at 24 Schilling Road, Suite 1 in Hunt Valley, MD. The Social Media Senior Manager will report to the Director, Consumer Engagement & Culture.

Position Overview

The Senior Social Media Manager is responsible for the strategic direction and execution of social media efforts for all consumer brands. In addition to working with many cross-functional stakeholders, this role leads a team of social media content managers, community specialists and a social media copywriter, enabling them to execute the highest quality and innovate work to drive business growth.

Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy - Develop and execute a best-in-class social media strategy across all businesses. Strategy should enable us to build deeper consumer brand love and loyalty in new ways, and should ladder back up to key McCormick business goals.

Growth Opportunities - Work closely with cross functional team members- such as global partners, DTC team and Flavor Solutions, to drive new ways of thinking for how social media can drive key business areas.

Campaign Support - Work with cross-functional teams such a creative account service, PR and media planning to enable social media-first thinking across all campaign efforts. Work directly with media agency on any social media-specific planning and execution.

Measurement & Tech Analysis - Lead social media measurement process and best practice implementation, driving quarterly reporting and benchmarking process. Enable internal visibility of key social media projects and learnings through internal presentations and reporting.

Team Management - Lead an internal social media agency, inclusive of social content managers, community specialists and a social media copywriter.

Operations - Evaluate social media platforms and tools on an annual basis to drive efficiencies for the social media team and to deliver cost savings back to the business. Manage scopes of work and budgets for social media vendors and agencies.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field
5+ years of relevant work experience, preferably CPG
Experience managing social media efforts across multiple brands
Strong understanding of social media channels, best practices and the evolving social media landscape
Experience with social media content planning and publishing
Experience with social media technologies such as hootsuite or sprinklr
Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing direct reports
Strong analytical and project leadership experience with ability to manage multiple projects.
Understands social platforms, technologies and algorithms.
Keeps up-to-date with industry trends and new platform innovations.
Developed communication and diplomacy skills required to guide, influence, and convince others (internal and external)
Creative, innovative thinker who is not afraid to bring new ideas to the table
Detail-oriented, organized and deadline driven with ability to adapt in real time
History of high performance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrates a bias toward action.
