Job Summary:

DMED’s Social Media Marketing team is seeking a Social Media Manager who will be responsible for the overall strategy, management, and growth of Pixar Animation Studio’s social channels, supporting key brand initiatives spanning general brand affinity marketing, studio news, theatrical releases, streaming titles, theme park and resort activations, and more. This role will engage in creating and spearheading brand building campaigns, managing a team of strategists and coordinators, developing platform-specific strategies, building content calendars, providing feedback on concepts and content, fielding and curating support requests, maintaining strong relationships with various stakeholders, writing copy, scheduling, monitoring, and assisting with productions (providing voiceover, capturing on-the-ground content, serving as an on-set social/brand rep, etc.). They will collaborate with cross-functional internal departments including Content, VisDev, Video, Influencer Relations, and Insights, as well as key stakeholders throughout TWDC. Funneling content from various pipelines, they will ensure that all pieces align with Pixar and DMED best practices, safety guidelines, and voice. They will also be in charge of analyzing channel performance and presenting key learnings, trends, and campaign and channel recaps to executive leadership. This role will report into the Manager, Social Media.

This Social Media Manager should be collaborative, creative, data-driven, and highly organized, with a strong understanding of all digital platforms and current social media trends. Additionally, the ideal candidate should be proactive, a strong team player, and possess excellent communication skills. The ability to adapt to processes, meet deadlines, and work with multiple stakeholders across business units within The Walt Disney Company is key.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

Manage the overall calendar for Pixar Animation Studio’s social channels on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, and TikTok. Lead development of social strategy as it relates to messaging, engagement, and content performance. Closely collaborate with internal partners. Work with other digital teams across The Walt Disney Company to align on tentpole beats as well as amplify Pixar initiatives.

Serve as the main point of contact with Pixar Animation Studio partners, navigating feedback and collaborating on brand initiatives. Ensure that our partners across the company understand key aspects of Pixar’s social presence: brand voice, best practices, and brand safety guidelines.

Manage, mentor, and provide guidance for Pixar strategist(s) and coordinator(s), delegating tasks to efficiently and effectively continuously program various handles and channels in a fast-paced environment.

Partner with brand and insights teams to assess content performance and adjust strategy accordingly. Share learnings with key decision makers, leadership, and partners.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum 5+ years of experience in social/digital marketing, ideally working in a big brand setting.

Minimum 1+ year of experience directly or indirectly managing people.

Outstanding project management, communication, and organizational skills.

Top of the line passion, appreciation, and knowledge of the Pixar brand, films, characters, shorts, TV series, and Disney Parks presence.

Ability to manage multiple projects and creative ideas on tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Superior knowledge of social platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube) and native products, plus invested interest in exploring new spaces.
Up to date with the latest trends and platform updates and able to use those to inform strategy.

Excellent writing and copy-editing skills with the ability to translate traditional marketing content into brand-relevant conversations.

Passion for storytelling, listening to what the community has to say, and providing memorable and/or award-winning experiences in the social space.
Knack for finding creative solutions to challenges and using data to drive decision-making.

Team player with a strong work ethic and high level of confidentiality.

Strong attention to detail and ability to use sound judgement as it relates to brand safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred experience in Sprinklr publishing and reporting, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Photography, Videography, and Photoshop.

Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Communications, Business, Marketing, Film, and/or related field and/or equivalent years of industry experience.
