The Social Media Manager will lead strategy, planning, and execution for Patagonia’s social media, including platform management, channel strategy, ongoing/daily publishing, social campaigns, reporting & analysis, and community engagement. The Social Media Manager will be responsible for fitting social media content into Patagonia’s overall digital content strategy and meeting overall storytelling and activism goals and benchmarks. Essential to the position is the ability to lead a social media team, define content requirements, grow and engage new audiences and execute overall digital and social strategies while maintaining brand integrity and consistency.

What You’ll Do

Serve as brand social lead, developing and executing best-in-class social strategy and programs in alignment with stakeholders and cross-functional partners, with a shared goal to increase reach and engagement.

Update, implement and maintain channel specific social media guidelines.
Provide social insight and point of view in the development of marketing campaigns and community storytelling programs.

Maintain a consistent voice, personality, and look and feel for the brand across all social media channels.

Set KPIs and provide ad-hoc, biweekly, and yearly analysis on qualitative and quantitative performance to the department head and internal stakeholders.

Share-out social content calendar and planning in key interdepartmental meetings and with channel stakeholders.

Partner with Content Marketing Manager and internal Creative team to drive production of video content for key storytelling initiatives, including strategizing, ideating, writing briefs, and overall project management as needed.

Engage with social communities to drive engagement and conversations.
Maintain relationships with platforms and vendors.

Utilize native social analytics and third-party toolsets to educate and advise on better content development.

Leads department evolution in keeping with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Lead ideation relative to social media strategies and content executions, pushing Patagonia to be a leader in the rapidly evolving social media space.

What You Bring

7-10+ years of experience in the digital + social media industry.

Deep operational experience with social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Pinterest, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, TikTok, Reddit).

Efficiency in multi-tasking, a high degree of organization, and ability to prioritize.

Creative thinker with the ability to follow through on and execute new ideas.

Proficiency in media distribution and channel insights.

Strong experience with social scheduling, publishing, analytics, and listening & monitoring tools (Sprout, Later.app, Khoros¸ etc).

Driven, self-starter who can build and deploy strategic planning and execute tactically.
Strong experience collaborating with multiple key stakeholders, ensuring most optimized course of action is followed.

A keen eye for visual/styled creative and aesthetic.

Strong writing, grammar, and editorial skills as well as verbal and visual communication.

Flexibility and willingness to work outside normal office hours as needed.

Experience creating content for social channels in a professional setting.

Familiarity with paid social media buying and optimization preferred.

Demonstrated ability to lead projects from origin through execution.

Willingness to learn.
