Role Overview:
As the Social Media Manager at Newlab, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our brand’s social media strategy and content creation efforts. Your creativity and strategic approach will be the driving force behind our global social campaigns, targeting organic and paid audiences to increase engagement, enhance brand recognition, generate high-quality leads, and boost event registrations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own Newlab’s social media brand and strategy across all platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram) to maintain a consistent and compelling brand presence.
- Set high standards for creative excellence, tailoring content to each platform’s unique requirements and audience expectations.
- Collaborate with onsite content creators at various Newlab locations to collect and schedule engaging content that aligns with the brand’s voice and delivers value to our customers.
- Engage actively within the climate tech and investment community and the deep tech startup ecosystem.
- Develop integrated social campaigns with measurable marketing outcomes, such as event registrations, blog article engagements, form fills, and content downloads.
- Track and analyze organic, paid, and earned social metrics, providing regular reports on marketing outcomes to measure success.
- Organize and host LinkedIn Lives and other social media-based events to further engage our audience.
- Manage Newlab’s Official Newsletter in collaboration with the Head of Membership, curating thought-provoking themes and thought leadership content.
- Bonus: Utilize your understanding of influencer marketing and social selling to amplify our brand’s reach and influence.
- Work closely with community managers in Detroit to identify startups and founders within the space, showcasing their innovative work on our platforms.
- Create captivating video and photo content, capturing the essence of events and activities in the Detroit space.
Position Requirements / Qualifications:
- 4-7 years of experience managing corporate social media channels, preferably in the tech or innovation sector.
- A proven track record of delivering successful social media campaigns that have shown measurable business impact, including significant growth in brand following and engagement.
- A self-motivated, creative, and ambitious individual who excels in both independent and collaborative work environments.
- Comfortable with engaging and interacting with people socially, fostering meaningful connections.
- Proficient in creating native social content, including video and photo content, and working seamlessly with a brand team.
