The Social Media Manager is a seasoned and passionate customer-focused and data-driven social media marketer. The Manager is responsible for MSC Cruises U.S. B2C and B2B social media strategy and content planning. The Social Media Manager will cultivate, engage, and grow the social media community across various owned properties, and develop KPIs that measure social media performance. The manager will develop and publish ongoing social media content, manage the influencer marketing program, and develop ongoing reporting and analytics using native social media platforms and social media listening tools. The Manager will be part of the U.S. social media team and the broader U.S. marketing team.


  • Maintain the monthly social media calendar based on business objectives and strategies
  • Manage execution and scheduling of all social media posts
  • Lead ongoing daily community management across multiple platforms including crisis management in partnership with PR
  • Optimize performance of owned social channels to cultivate and grow our audiences
  • Develop robust social media activation plans that maximize impressions, reach and engagement rates for new ship inaugurals
  • Work closely with Trade Marketing Manager to develop and execute B2B social media strategy that engages and grows travel partner social media audience
  • Develop and manage relationships with key influencers for US cruise market
  • Manage the evergreen on board influencer marketing program and key influencer campaigns throughout the year
  • Maximize user generated content library and opportunities Monitor and report on emerging digital trends, best practices and new social features Lead social media training opportunities for external travel advisors
  • Track, research and report on social media trends, tools, and competitive activity


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications; or any equivalent combination of relevant education and/or work experience.
  • MBA preferred 6+ years of organic social media marketing experience for a global brand
  • Proven track record of managing effective social media programs for large and reputable brands
  • Active social media user with robust working knowledge of all notable social platforms and a curiosity for understanding emerging trends in the space
  • Advanced experience with major social media platforms (i.e Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, TikTok)
  • Familiarity with social media reporting and KPIs
  • Hands on experience with community management and crisis communication Experience with influencer marketing strategy and analysis
  • Working knowledge of social media tools such as: Hootsuite, Social Studio, Stackla, Sprout Social, BrandWatch, Netbase, Facebook Business Manager, Facebook Page Insights, Instagram Analytics and Twitter Analytics.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal relationship and communication skills with proven examples of successfully partnering with internal team members and external vendors to drive programs forward.
  • Exceptional written skills with storytelling ability and possession of visual brand identity skills
  • Experience with photoshop and graphic design is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Able to work outside normal business hours for events and other reasons due to the fast-paced 24/7 nature of social media
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously in an environment with changing business demands
  • Demonstrated strength and ability to lead social media planning and execution
