StretchMetal, an ambient music curator, seeks a Social Media Manager to join our team.
In this role, you’ll be able to play a vital role in expanding our online presence and engaging with our audience through various social media platforms and our newsletter. This position is a valuable opportunity to gain experience in social media management, content creation, and audience engagement within the experimental music and event industry. Please note that you will be writing newsletters and posts about ambient artists, so being a fan of the genre is helpful.
Responsibilities:

Social Media Management: Create and implement social media strategies to promote StretchMetal’s events, artists, and initiatives. Manage and curate content across multiple social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

Content Creation: Develop engaging and creative social media posts, including graphics, videos, and written content.

Audience Engagement: Interact with our online community, responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Foster meaningful connections with followers, artists, and industry professionals to cultivate an active and engaged online community.

Newsletter Management: Oversee the creation and distribution of our newsletter, ensuring regular and informative updates are shared with our subscribers. Coordinate with the team to gather relevant content, such as upcoming events, artist features, and behind-the-scenes insights.

Analytics: Monitor and analyze social media metrics, newsletter performance, and audience engagement to identify trends and optimize strategies.

Proficient knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Creative mindset with the ability to develop engaging content.

Familiarity with social media management tools and analytics platforms.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Experience with photo editing tools such as Canva and Photoshop.

Passion for experimental and ambient music genres, is a plus.
This is an unpaid position, intended for individuals seeking valuable experience in social media management and newsletter coordination. The internship duration is 6 months, with the option to extend based on performance and mutual agreement. Applicants close to the Chicagoland area are preferred but remote is okay. 10-15 hours/week. College credit can be arranged if applicable.
