As the Social Media Manager at Going, you will play a key role in shaping and enhancing our brand’s presence on various social media platforms, catering to existing and potential audiences. Your role is not limited to posting content; it involves crafting a narrative that resonates with hundreds of thousands of followers, driving engagement, and fostering a deeper connection with our community. Your approach will be a balance of creativity and analysis. You will use your storytelling skills to create compelling copy, stunning visuals, and captivating content with the support of our creative team while leveraging a data-driven mindset to test and refine your strategies.

In this fully remote role, you will manage and execute our social media strategy, requiring strong self-discipline and organizational skills. Your work will be diverse and dynamic, managing multiple projects and collaborating with teams across the organization.

Your role is about managing social media accounts and being a digital storyteller and strategist who can bring the world of travel to life and excite audiences to explore our products. With a deep understanding of travel-related social media activations and a finger on the pulse of cultural trends, you will inspire our members to explore and discover new destinations and experiences.

We are looking for a creative, strategic thinker who can join our team and contribute to a more engaging social media presence that drives new user growth under the guidance of our Senior Manager, Growth Marketing.

In the short term, you will

  • Proactively manage and enhance our emerging and existing social media strategy across key platforms, ensuring alignment with our brand’s voice and goals.
  • Assess our current mix of organic social channels, highlighting immediate opportunities for growth and engagement.
  • Conduct a thorough audit of our past social media content and metrics to identify baselines while highlighting any trends and successes.
  • Form a comprehensive, data-focused perspective on the performance of each channel.
  • Work closely with the Brand and Customer Marketing teams to enhance campaigns.
  • Partner with our “Flight Experts” to develop compelling and innovative content tailored for our social media audiences.
  • Achieve a deep understanding and proficiency in our internal processes, such as asset requests and pulling data, with the support of our Data team.

In the long term, you will

  • Design and implement a comprehensive testing roadmap for social media, exploring new channels, creative approaches, and landing page strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with partners from various departments to maximize the learnings and impact of social media experiments.
  • Regularly introduce fresh and creative ideas for social media activations, campaigns, and potential social partnerships that align with our business objectives.
  • Continuously evaluate KPIs across all social channels to determine necessary changes to optimize the overall effectiveness of each channel.
  • Develop aggregated reports on channel and campaign performance to provide an integrated view of our social media landscape and its impact on business goals.
  • Play a pivotal role in strategizing and supporting the launch of our app, focusing on app store optimization (ASO) and creating compelling app pages.

What you know
Required:

  • Deep knowledge in developing and managing effective multi-channel social media strategies, focusing on engaging communities across various platforms including, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter/X, Threads, Pinterest, and YouTube.
  • Proficiency in using data analytics to inform and drive social media strategies, including hypothesis-focused experimentation. Effective communication skills for conveying insights and results to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with broader business goals.
  • A strong track record of thinking outside the box and applying innovative solutions to enhance social media strategies. Ability to identify areas for improvement and reinvent current practices to drive continuous progress and adapt to changing market trends.
  • Proven ability to engage and grow online communities through effective social media strategies.
  • Strong background in creating and overseeing high-quality social media content, combined with experience acting as a brand ambassador.
  • Skilled in identifying and leveraging current trends to produce wide-ranging, engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated capability operating efficiently in fast-paced, deadline-focused environments. Proven experience handling multiple high-priority projects with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring high-quality, error-free outcomes.
  • You’re legally authorized to work in the United States and able to work US hours.

Preferred:

  • An emerging or established understanding of the travel industry, with a desire to deepen this knowledge. Bonus points for those already familiar with the nuances and trends of the travel sector.
  • Familiarity with the latest in acquisition technology stacks and attribution models and technologies. Understanding the importance of tracking and measuring the effectiveness of marketing strategies and customer engagement.
  • Comfort and competence in translating and presenting data-driven insights and learnings into actionable insights and communicating these effectively to stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in creating and optimizing landing pages, particularly with tools like Unbounce. Ability to design landing pages that effectively convert visitors, reflecting an understanding of user experience and conversion optimization.
  • Experience in crafting or enhancing a social brand voice. Demonstrable skills in defining and maintaining a unique, consistent tone for a brand on various social media platforms, with examples of past work.
  • Hands-on experience managing and engaging with audiences on Q&A-based social channels like Reddit and Quora. This includes understanding the unique dynamics and community guidelines of these platforms.

You will work with Olivia Malone (Creative Lead), Nicole Ransom (Graphic Designer), Kylie Ruffino (Copywriter), and Tigran Minukyan (Motion Designer)
You will also collaborate with our Customer Marketing, Data, Member Success, and Engineering teams
