Chronicle Books is looking for a Social Media Manager who will develop digital marketing strategies, manage all of our adult trade and children’s social channels, and execute effective online marketing plans with the aim of gaining brand visibility and increasing awareness for our publishing program.

The person in this role will manage our overall digital presence/brand voice across all channels (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube), engage in social media management and asset creation, maintain a content calendar, and research new tools and technologies. They will own influencer strategy campaign management, they will engage in/share data analysis, they will work with authors and illustrators on content creation and develop group and seasonal promotions. Requirements

Applicants will need 3 to 5 years of social media and influencer marketing experience, a strong understanding of current online strategies, an ability to effectively communicate with all employee levels, with an ability to handle multiple projects. They should be organized/detail-oriented, they should be a self-starter with a tactful and diplomatic professional writing style, and possess a strong understanding of paid social media. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, photography, and video editing skills are a plus, and someone with people management experience is preferred.

Employees at Chronicle Books follow a flexible hybrid schedule of working a minimum of 2 days per week and up to 4 days per week in our San Francisco office, depending on project and business needs.

Hiring Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the expected salary for this position and will be determined by factors including but not limited to: the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, and geographic location as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible for our profit share plan.
