  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, with a minimum of 4+ years combined experience in social media and editorial related functions – managing social media for a brand, agency or brand-side, is a must.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of key social platforms, particularly Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest, and related social management tools
  • Expert in developing social media marketing strategies that are tailored to each channel and can deliver tangible results
  • Experience using Social Media Management tools.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to distill, synthesize and draw conclusions to make data informed decisions
  • Deep knowledge and passion for high-end home design, architecture or related industries
  • Strong writing and editing skills with an attention-to-detail
  • Ability to work independently, but also willing to assist colleagues in a collaborative and flexible manner
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities at the same time
  • Hybrid role - 1 day in New York City Office, 4 days remote. MUST reside in the New York City area.

About The Position

Hunter Douglas is looking for a savvy, social media expert that has extensive experience in planning and producing content that captures the attention and heart of a high-end, home décor-focused consumer.

The Social Media & Content Manager will work closely with the Director of Social Media and influencers as they source, create and share content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest – highlighting our core product offerings, promoting new product launches and communicating our brand messaging points through ownable content series and strategies unique to our brand.

This individual will be skilled in creating compelling editorial content, as they will be responsible for planning and writing lifestyle pieces to live on our website that complement their social media work – highlighting the Hunter Douglas brand in innovative ways. They will also have knowledge in planning and executing social media-first content shoots to capture assets needed for the channels they manage.

The ideal candidate has considerable knowledge of social media trends, a strong visual eye, excellent writing skills, a passion for home décor, and a proven ability to champion new brand-building strategies from concept through implementation.

The role will report to the Director of Social Media and Influencers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day operations of all owned social media channels (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest) including creation of publishing calendars, content sourcing, content measurement, and community management.
  • Serve as the company’s expert on the latest social media trends, competitive insights, and emerging social media platforms.
  • Identify gaps in content, then work to plan, and execute shoots for social-first assets.
  • Plan and produce editorial content to live on our website that aids in marketing Hunter Douglas products across our social media and email channels.
  • Provide recommendations for email content opportunities that would align with the social media and editorial calendar.
  • Provide monthly platform performance metrics on all owned channels to identify content insights and optimize the platform’s ongoing content streams.
  • Generate new ideas for bringing awareness and excitement to the company’s annual new product launches while deepening market interest in the company’s ongoing, core product offerings.
  • Establish relationships within our social community and interact with followers in a genuine way.
  • Align and collaborate cross functionally with other corporate marketing team members on creative and digital marketing projects.


Salary Range: $90k - $101k, plus 20%+ bonus potential
