Job Description

Leads Subaru of America’s organic social media presence across multiple social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, YouTube, and new platforms as they emerge). Fuels the company’s social media channels with engaging social first Subaru brand content developed in partnership with stakeholders across the organization, sourced from our vehicle owners and brand fans, and/or creates custom content as needed . Tracks and understands social performance metrics, as well as implements a social media strategy to increase Subaru brand affinity and demand.


  • Leads organic social media editorial content calendar to prioritize the deployment of all brand and model communications.
  • Sources the best social media brand stories across the Subaru organization and creates and/or curates any/all published content (static images, video, etc.) and customizes content as needed for deployment across all individual social media platforms.
  • Maintains responsibility for the deployment of ~50% of Subaru of America’s posts throughout the year (~1,000 deployments/year out of ~2,000 across the brand; colleague will deploy ~50% of other posts ).
  • Coordinates with Integrated Media Manager for social media amplification and influencer implementation as needed to reach custom audiences and increase the reach of organic content.
  • Measures performance of paid and organic social campaigns and provides key learnings and optimization recommendations.
  • Collaborates with Integrated Media Manager to implement any changes to the evolving social media landscape (this includes emerging trends, new or evolving social platforms, cross post brand strategy, and measurement/deployment tools).
  • Acts as a social media thought leader within Subaru of America, providing strategic counsel, best practices, and a measurement plan for campaign-level project managers.
  • Maintains accountability for day-to-day responsibilities of social media intern/social media contractor.
  • Supports blogger/influencer engagement programs by sharing coverage on social platforms.
  • Stays updated on current issues/events, as well as trends, tools. and best practices in social media to maximize opportunities and continually evolve our strategic plan.
  • Follows corporate policies and guidelines to ensure consistency in brand voice and adherence to our overarching social strategy.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Experience with social media required. Experience with marketing and media relations preferred.
  • Organized self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently, multi-task, manage projects, and handle time-sensitive material in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with solid understanding of social media analytics including Sprout Social, Facebook and Instagram Insights, Twitter and TikTok Analytics, BrandTotal.
  • Demonstrated excellent social media judgement (ex: knowing what to say and when to say it, how to best respond to fans/customers, etc.).
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the latest digital technologies and social media trends.
  • Genuine interest in Subaru and automotive industry.


The ideal candidate will have 4 to 6 years of experience in social media marketing and hold a BA/BS degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Hybrid Role - Remote work 2 days per week (after 90 Days)



SALARY RANGE: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $65,800 - $94,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
