Position Summary:

The Atlanta Falcons are seeking a Senior Manager, Social Media that will lead a talented group of social content creators and social specialists. This person will lead social strategy for the organization, including daily social coverage, gameday and event coverage, community management, social engagement, paid social campaigns, execution of partner integrations, etc.

This person must also be a good team leader, giving guidance and creating growth opportunities for the social media team.

The Senior Manager, Social Media will manage two direct reports including the Social Media Producer and Social Media Specialist. This position reports directly to the Senior Director, Digital Strategy.

This individual will work closely with the rest of the digital and content teams to create compelling and engaging content plans that help grow our brand and enhance the digital experience for the Falcons fan base.

While the primary outlet for this creative thinking will be Falcons’ social media channels, we are looking for someone whose creative concepts can go beyond the bounds of our social platforms.

The successful candidate will have their finger on the pulse of all that is culturally relevant in Atlanta and to our social audiences and will be dedicated to increasing the connection to our current fans and attracting new fans through engaging content.

This high-profile, fast-paced and challenging opportunity requires versatility and ability to assist in the creation of content, both through strategic planning and real-time content creation.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead, set and execute the social media strategies for the Atlanta Falcons
  • Create engaging content plans tailored to the Falcons social media platforms – Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snap, etc. Also serve as a consultant on YouTube content strategy while keeping an eye on other emerging platforms.
  • Serve as the main social media contact with the NFL, identifying best practices and being an active participant in league committees. This person should serve as our internal social media expert, staying informed on new opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with NFL leads at all social platforms
  • Work closely with creative team to ensure brand consistency across all social platforms and collaborating on new social concepts
  • Serve as the social lead with respect to influencer marketing initiatives, seeking new opportunities to engage with micro and macro-influencers
  • Partner with marketing and gameday entertainment teams to amplify organizational initiatives and craft creative social strategies to build brand heat
  • Regularly use social performance analytics to understand our audiences and their interests to better produce impactful content. Oversee monthly and weekly reporting by partnering with business intelligence team.
  • Lead our social monetization efforts, identifying and executing best practices to drive revenue and ticket sales
  • Oversee Falcons community management, ensuring strong 1:1 connection with fans across our platforms
  • Build on ideas across video, writing and photography to elevate creative thinking across the team

Skills and Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, sports management, journalism, or related field
  • 6+ years’ experience across digital and social media within high-paced, demanding professional setting.
  • Team leader that is additive to our strong culture and core values
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and growth opportunities within the social team
  • Results-driven mindset and approach that seeks to deliver incremental sales and value for partners
  • A detailed knowledge of social media and digital content platforms, with an understanding of the differences in the audiences and their consumption habits
  • Ability to work across multiple functions / departments to achieve consensus drive positive results
  • Passionate sports fan and regular consumer of digital sports content
  • Experience within a large media company or sports team, with an understanding of their core revenue generating processes
  • Team player who thrives in projects that involve multiple stakeholders
