Manager, Social Media - Universal Orlando

JOB SUMMARY: The Social Media Manager plays major role in making Universal Parks and Resorts a leader in the use of social media. Responsible for managing the strategy and creation of content that builds our social media communities as well as builds brand affinity. The Manager must demonstrate a deep understanding of content strategy and social media management. Responsible for applying content marketing strategy to develop and distribute content through social channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and Pinterest.


  • Creates new and creative ways to use social platforms and digital content to tell stories and build our audience.
  • Creates on brand disruptive social content across social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and more.
  • Responsible for all social content planning, programming, publishing, tagging, and editorial calendar management in collaboration with IMCD team and overall marketing messaging.
  • Responsible for creating and implementing industry leading social publishing best practices with engagement benchmarks for all social channels.
  • Devote time for the ongoing education of the Universal Orlando Team regarding social media capabilities.
  • Social Media Strategy Development
  • Working with the Head of Social Media, develop the content strategy for our social channels that drives ticket sales.
  • Operates as a social media lead strategist leading all integrated social media planning for campaigns and segment initiatives.
  • Manage social media content team, including contractors and agencies, to ensure content aligns with Universal Studios Hollywood brand, yet engages audiences in new and unique ways.
  • Work to operationalize and implement enterprise-wide social media capabilities and collaborations.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and influence integration of social executions with online and offline programs from planning to execution.
  • Responsible for translation of existing social media workflows into actionable processes
  • Analyze and track campaign performance, making real-time recommendations and help solidify and operationalize global KPIs and dashboards.
  • Support training and enablement of social media engagement best practices and devote time to ongoing education of social media capabilities
  • Identify and create opportunities for social activations, develop strategic plans, and manage executions and optimization of social media campaigns for Universal Orlando
  • Assist in managing an external agency on social plans and developing creative assets
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree is preferred in Journalism, English, or Communication Master’s degree.

EXPERIENCE: 5+ years’ experience working in social media, digital media, or digital communications experience in an agency or corporate setting, including at least one - two years of immersive social media experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Proven experience managing successful high-profile projects that involve multiple business functions, milestone tracking, and collaborations.
