The Lead, Social Media is responsible for all Social Media efforts from planning to implementation and analysis. This individual will support the development of Social Media activation strategies by creating campaigns to drive positive sentiment, GNC customers’ brand recognition and engagement.


Responsible for overseeing management of GNC social media channels (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube) and Beyond Raw social media channels (Facebook, Instagram).

Oversee all organic social content Planning and Creation for GNC handles

Manage organic social content ideation and oversee development of social content

Work closely with Creative teams and Planning teams to ensure topics, copywriting voice/tone and visual look/feel are consistent with GNC Social Media Strategy

Remain current with social and digital trends in order to keep GNC relevant within the digital space

Manage organic social editorial calendars and scheduling/publishing of all content

Oversee community management and engagement strategy for all GNC social channels with support from Engagement Specialist

Ensure proper execution of community engagement, issues management, outreach, product sends, etc. with help from Engagement Specialist

Oversee the issues management and escalation process to ensure Engagement Specialist and Customer Service teams are properly aligned

Proactively identify new engagement opportunities with Influencers and Celebrities and execute accordingly

Manage reporting and analysis of GNC social channels against strategic KPIs and benchmarks

Develop benchmarks for assessing social media campaign success, and regularly analyzes, reviews, and reports on strategies.

Support Sr Manager with ideation, creation and execution of social and ambassador strategies for marketing campaigns and launches

Support Sr Manager with Ambassador program responsibilities, including management of Brand Fan/Affiliate program

Additional duties as assigned


Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, PR or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key accountabilities of the job required

Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
6+ years of social media or relevant experience in marketing required

3+ years managing a social community – engagement, posting schedule, community management preferred

3+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect)

Omni-channel retail brand marketing or social media strategy experience preferred

Demonstrated knowledgeable of social media trends, content, innovations, and technology

Demonstrated experience managing multiple social platforms, communities and brand ambassadors

Experience in creating campaigns and utilizing social platforms to build awareness, 1:1 relationships and engage new and existing customers

Solid understanding of how consumers engage with and consume content on various social platforms

Strong consumer insight and commitment to exceptional customer service

Understanding of Netbase Social Listening and SocialStudio Publishing preferred

High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications

Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)

Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts

Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients

Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.

Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management

Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
