The Content & Social Media Specialist will be responsible for supporting the development, coordination, and execution of the Marketing team’s overall cross-channel content strategy. This includes planning and implementing the resort’s social media content strategy, highlighting the resort’s seasonal offerings, promoting new product launches, and communicating strategic brand messages to achieve: 1) a positive brand sentiment, and 2) social media attributed revenue to key business objectives.

This role champions and executes brand strategies and tactics in support of Big Sky Resort’s brand evolution. This requires strong attention to detail, excellent writing and organizational skills, a keen visual eye, considerable knowledge of social media trends, and a passion for mountain destinations and alpine activities.


  • Strategic planning, management, andday-to-day operation of all resort social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn) including the creation of publishing calendars, content sourcing, content measurement, and community management.
  • Day-to-day community management of resort review channels, including Google, TripAdvisor, and Yelp.
  • Plan and develop social media campaigns to aid in marketing Big Sky Resort products and experiences across our owned media channels.
  • Generate new ideas for bringing awareness and excitement to the resort, sales messages, and key dates and events, to deepen market interest in Big Sky Resort’s core mountain experiences.
  • Align efforts with Big Sky Marketing & Sales team members, and work cross-functionally with Boyne Resorts sister resort teams on creative and digital marketing projects.
  • Provide recurring platform performance metrics on all owned channels to identify content insights and optimize the platform’s ongoing content streams.


  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • 2+ years of combined experience in social media and editorial related functions - prior experience managing social media for a brand, whether agency or brand-side, is a must
  • Strong writing and editing skills with an attention-to-detail – experience developing original content for blogs, articles, and related content is a plus
  • Ability to utilize photo/video equipment and editing software to capture brand content
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of key social platforms, particularly Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok, and related social management tools
  • Sharp analytical mindset with the ability to distill, synthesize and draw conclusions to make data informed decisions
  • Works collaboratively with teammates to support overall marketing content strategies and consistency across all platforms
  • Capable of working independently, but also willing to assist colleagues in a collaborative and flexible manner
