Ask Space Friends: Career advice needed about skills & knowledge

I had a conversation with a social media manager recently who said that she felt like she needed to expand her skills and knowledge beyond the “normal” social media skills she already has, so she is ready for her next job.

Told her I would post anonymously to get input from this great group!

What would you suggest she do to expand her knowledge and help her reach the next level in her career ?

Not sure what I can say here as I’m not in a level above her in her career. I suppose I’d look at what the next step is asking for and maybe find a mentor.

Or if she’s looking to step into a more senior role managing people then maybe some leadership classes.
